It is an edition-specific feature, not a reason to assume every MatePad Air has the same finish. We have not measured glare or pen feel ourselves.
A compatible M-Pencil Pro and Smart Magnetic Keyboard give handwriting and typing separate jobs. Use the pen for spatial notes and margin comments; use the keyboard for the document you need to send. Check accessory compatibility for the exact tablet, rather than treating the Huawei name as a guarantee.
Count the keyboard before calling it lightweight
The listed keyboard adds approximately 308 g. Adding that to the listed 509 g tablet gives an 817 g subtotal. The pen, charger and any additional case are still outside that number. This is a transparent calculation from manufacturer figures, not a weighed travel kit or evidence that Huawei is lighter than every competing setup.
The buying condition: software fit
Open a real assignment or work template on the regional model. Check your required login, document editor, cloud storage and export format. WPS Office AI availability and payment conditions vary by region and software version; do not budget around a feature without checking access. A browser login working once also does not establish that an entire workplace workflow is supported.

Shortlist MatePad Air for reading-heavy study and mixed pen-and-keyboard work. Choose based on that fit, not an assumption that it replaces every laptop. If a required app, driver or specialist document feature is missing, choose a platform that supports it or keep your existing computer for that task.
