Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 belongs on a work-and-study shortlist for people who want a compact Android tablet with a pen included. Its strongest buying case is an Android workflow that already suits your reading, notes, cloud files and daily communications.

A compact starting point

Samsung’s launch specifications list the 11-inch Wi-Fi model at 469 g. The comparison on this site uses that body-weight figure and excludes a keyboard, charger and carrying accessories. The included S Pen changes the purchase checklist, but it does not make every possible accessory part of the box.

Handwriting and typing have different jobs

A pen suits handwritten formulas, sketches and margin notes. A keyboard suits longer text and final document revisions. If both matter, test switching between the two on the actual app you intend to use. A good list of hardware features cannot tell you whether your particular PDF or classroom platform will preserve those notes correctly.

What DeX does—and does not—settle

Samsung DeX provides a desktop-style way to arrange supported Android apps. That can be useful when you want a source document beside a draft. It does not turn an Android app into the Windows version of the same software. Check shortcuts, file access, window behavior and export support for each essential task.

A required spreadsheet add-in, driver or specialist desktop tool is a separate compatibility question. If one of those determines whether you can finish your work, resolve it before comparing display or processor claims.

Our recommendation

Shortlist Tab S11 for Android-based notes and everyday document work, particularly when including a pen in the purchase is valuable. Compare it with the MatePad Air for display size and reading preferences, with iPad Air for app ecosystem fit, and with Surface for Windows-dependent tasks. We have not conducted a common battery or pen-latency test, so this is a documented buying comparison rather than a laboratory ranking.
